Drinking a good amount of water every day is so important to help us stay strong and healthy. Drinking water helps to control our body calories, energizes our muscles, helps our skin to look great, prevents constipation and headaches, keeps us more alert, assists us with hangovers, relieves us from fatigue, flushes out toxins and boosts our immune system – just to name a few.

An average individual should ideally be drinking around 8 glasses of water a day to stay healthy. Unfortunately, due to our busy lifestyles, many of us fail to drink the required amount of water, resulting in unwanted circumstances.

I’m fortunate to be brought up in a family who has taught me how to drink water regularly to stay healthy. If I was at a restaurant, I’d rather order a glass of water rather than a soft drink or tea. Water to me is the best drink in the world, especially to quench my thirst. No kidding!

Although drinking water comes naturally to me, I understand that for some of you who are used to drinking flavoured drinks, having water may seem like a chore rather than a delight. So if you’ve been struggling to get your daily intake of water with ease, here are some simple suggestions on how you can spice up boring, plain water into a delicious drink. Try these easy flavoured water ideas and you might be on your way to getting the amount of water your body needs!

Here are my suggestions:-

Terrific Ways to Make Flavoured Water

1. Flavoured Fruit Juice Ice Cubes

Use ice cube trays to freeze your favourite fruit juices. Before serving the water, simply drop some of these marvelous ice cubes inside. The different colours of these ice cubes will make it more attractive to drink.

2. Chopped Strawberries

Add some texture to your boring water by adding chopped strawberries to it. The strawberries will flavour the water to perfection in no time. If you are not a big fan of strawberries, you can also use other berries such as raspberries or blueberries.

3. Sliced oranges and vanilla bean pods

The sweet aromas of oranges combined with vanilla can never get any better than this! Infuse your water with these ingredients for about an hour before enjoying a glass of refreshing water.

4. Watermelon and Mint

Slice some watermelon (include the skin) and mix it with some mint leaves. Then pour in the water and leave them all to infuse for roughly 30 minutes. Once your drink is finally ready, you’ll be rewarded with a flavourful drink.

5. Cucumber

Add some cucumber slices to your plain water for a refreshing twist. This is a perfect treat for a relaxing day!

6. Splash of Juice

If you are a total juice lover, just add a splash of your favourite citrus or berry juice into your water for that burst of flavour. This will surely brighten up any boring water!

7. Mint Cubes

Add some mint leaves to your ice cube tray and add water to it to make ice cubes. You can also add rosemary or basil to make your ice cubes. This is the perfect alternative if you would like to have flavoured water without any sweetened taste.

These are just some of the ways to spice up your water. Did you find any of my tips useful? Or do you have some other interesting flavoured water recipes you would like to share?
